"Helsinki-based instrumental improvisational group Neue Haas Grotesk show themselves off as a diverse combo on their first outing. The trio, compromising two guitars and a drumkit, craft everything between droney ambient passages, blissful kraut-jams and crashing noise-rock as easily as Jyrki Nissinen makes up new cultural references and insults. This is pure instrumental anti-rock, utilizing the same rock-instrumentation that got every experimental band in the 60’s to 90’s labeled as prog or post-rock respectively. What will the punters say of Neue Haas Grotesk? Fuck that! Yr nervous-system is about to get a total meltdown from the ecstatic jams on this one."
